Runcord helps you plan and record movement with audio. It does not guarantee that a route, park, forecast, distance estimate, or outdoor condition is safe, open, or error-free. Stay aware of your surroundings and use your judgment.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Runcord app, runcord.net, and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
Runcord does not use an age-based sign-up restriction. You must provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access. Any rights or safeguards that apply under local law remain in effect.
3. Outdoor activity and route safety
Outdoor movement involves risks. Maps, pedestrian directions, park information, loop status, distances, pace, weather context, and estimated times may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. Parks and paths may be closed, private, poorly lit, under construction, affected by weather, or unsuitable for your ability.
- Obey signs, closures, traffic laws, property rules, and instructions from local authorities.
- Do not enter restricted, private, unsafe, or unmarked areas because the Service displays a route.
- Keep enough awareness to hear traffic, people, warnings, and changing conditions. Adjust or stop audio when needed.
- Use a route, pace, and distance appropriate for your health, experience, daylight, weather, and surroundings.
Runcord is not a medical, emergency, navigation, or personal-safety service. Call local emergency services when needed.
4. Route and distance status
Runcord may label an internal park loop as reviewed or verified based on the information available at the time. That status does not guarantee current access, maintenance, safety, lighting, or suitability. Where a loop has not been reviewed, Runcord may show “verification pending” and withhold a lap distance. Access routes and estimated distances may still vary from your actual movement.
5. Audio and third-party services
Podcasts, news, music, maps, route data, and related content may be supplied by third parties. Availability, accuracy, rights, playback, and catalog access can change without notice. Apple Music requires an eligible Apple account, authorization, and any subscription required by Apple. Your use of Apple products is also governed by Apple’s terms.
Runcord does not grant you ownership of third-party audio. You may use it only as permitted by the applicable provider and law.
6. Acceptable use
You may not misuse the Service, interfere with its operation, bypass security or access controls, scrape or copy protected content at scale, reverse engineer except where law permits, use automated means to create false activity or rankings, or use the Service to violate law or another person’s rights.
7. Your records and feedback
You retain rights you have in information you submit to the Service. You give us the limited rights needed to host, process, display, and protect that information to provide the Service. If you send product feedback, you allow us to use it without an obligation to compensate you.
8. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may add, remove, or change features; suspend parts of the Service for maintenance or security; or stop offering the Service. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, or comply with law. You may stop using Runcord at any time and may delete your account through the app.
9. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted operation or that routes, content, measurements, or recommendations are accurate or suitable for you. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Runcord and its providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or harm arising from outdoor conditions, route decisions, third-party content, or your use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
11. Governing law
Applicable consumer-protection rights in your home jurisdiction remain in effect. Any governing-law or dispute term that requires a specific operator address or jurisdiction will be added before commercial release; until then, these Terms do not waive rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will post the updated effective date and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
13. Contact
